Start Your Day Right

We love this article Yahoo News posted yesterday about the benefits of your morning tea. According to the article, Matcha green tea not only protects your skin from UV rays but it is also packed with antioxidants. The article also lists several beneficial elements you can add to your tea like cinnamon for improved blood circulation, stevia for nutrients, and milk for calcium. Add 2 tablespoons of Protein Essential’s Peptan® Hydrolyzed Collagen to your morning cup of coffee or tea in addition to the suggestions in this

The easiest and tastiest way to incorporate Protein Essentials into your family’s diet is through drinks. Smoothies are a great way to satisfy even the most picky taste buds. Today’s recipe comes straight from Katy’s Kitchen, our recipe headquarters here at Protein Essentials. We bring you The Fat Elvis smoothie.

Elvis Presley loved fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. If you ever go to Memphis, TN you can get one at most of the local restaurants as homage to The King.  Back home, however, you can have a tasty and healthier version that will make you want to shake your hips and sing. Here is how you rock it:

What You’ll Need:

1 Scoop of Protein Essentials Hydrolyzed Collagen

1 whole banana

2 Tablespoons of your favorite peanut butter or almond butter

1/2 cup skim milk or non dairy milk product

2 ice cubes

Add the contents to a powerful blender like a Vitamix. With the blender off,  add the wet ingredients first, peanut butter next, then break the banana into a few sections and put in the first section after that. Put the lid on the blender and turn it on medium. When you see that it is blending well add the rest of the banana and turn the blender to a higher setting. Once the contents are in a relatively liquid state, add the 2 tablespoons of Protein Essentials Hydrolyzed Collagen. Turn the blender to high and get the ice cubes. Put in one ice cube at a time and turn the blender to crush. Wait until most of the previous ice cube is thoroughly crushed before putting in the second ice cube. Blend to your desired consistency. Pour in a tall glass get a straw and enjoy! Makes about 14 oz and contains approximately 180 calories per 8 ounces.
