How to Maximixe Benefits of Gelatin & Collagen

by Kathleen Sullivan  June 2, 2016

We’ve been hearing a lot lately about the extraordinary benefits of gelatin and collagen. There is no denying that past the age of 30, when collagen production begins to  decline, a natural collagen supplement can be essential. Collagen improves a number of age related inflammation and degenerative issues.

Collagen and gelatin are derived from the connective tissue of cattle, both collagen and gelatin are pure protein. Collagen is over 90% bioavailable, meaning it is wholly ingested and utilized by the body. As a pure, natural protein, it is gluten free and dairy free. Additionally, unlike other proteins, collagen and gelatin are hypoallergenic, meaning they will not cause stomach upset.

Gelatin is well known for its ability to improve leaky gut. Leaky gut occurs when the intenstinal wall is compromised, causing a myriad of painful, unpleasant and sometimes chronic symptoms. One scoop of gelatin stirred into tea in the morning and again in the evening may improve symtoms.

A scoop of collagen or gelatin in the evening may also improve sleep. Collagen and gelatin as a pure protein are amino acids, the primary amino acid in collagen is glycine. Studies show that this amino acid improves sleep. Better sleep translates into a better, healthier day. Sleep is also important for maintaining weight, collagen and gelatin are also ideal protein powders for weight control.

Exercise is an important component of a healthy lifestyle. It is difficult to work out with aching, painful joints and bones. Numerous studies have shown that collagen and gelatin improve joint and bone health. One scoop of collagen in coffee, tea or juice in the morning and again in the evening will help support healthy joints and bones.

Healthy skin is also increasingly difficult to maintain past the age of 30 due to collagen loss. Numerous studies have shown that the use of collagen improves skin elasticity and reduces wrinkles. Vitamin C is also beneficial in the fight against wrinkles. Combine collagen with emergen-c each morning for a powerful skin plumping orange juice replacement.

Safe, natural collagen and gelatin added to a daily routine is simple and offers huge benefits. As little as two scoops a day, morning and evening, will support bone and joint health, skin health, improve sleep quality while maintaining weight control, and improve leaky gut. A simple addition to the daily routine with healthy rewards, for an active lifestyle at any age.
